Moschino Spring/Summer 2015 Show
Pull out the box of Barbies from the attic– you’re going to need some fashion advice from Barbie on dressing for this Spring and Summer. The Moschino collection for Spring/Summer 2015 was one of the most talked about shows this past fashion week. Creative director Jeremy Scott, known for his over-the-top designs through the use of bright clashing colors, mismatching patterns, and his ability to make endearingly kitschy collections season after season, went pink in Milan this year.
Real-life Barbies walked down the runway, ranging in looks from “Business Barbie”, and “Exercise Barbie”, to “Rollerskating Barbie” and “Beach-babe Barbie”. Let’s just say every Barbie you’ve ever received in your stocking and Easter basket was represented. And the one your mom wouldn’t buy you at Toys R Us that one time? Yeah, she was there too. The runway was a vision of bubblegum pink and platinum blonde.
Feeding off the nostalgia in all of us, Moschino’s sure to make a killing from their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Minutes after the show finished, items from the ready-to-wear collection were selling out online. And can you blame the girls that bought out the [insert large amount of money for a sweatband] pink Moschino sweatbands? Give a girl the chance to be Barbie, and she’ll take it.
