WHO: The one and only Dr. LuAnn Gaskill!
WHAT: Twirling her pearls around in the Wallace Atrium after lecturing on the 1920’s in her History of Costume class.
WEAR: Her fabulous outfit is from her elaborate collection of historical costume.
The 1920’s were a time of great prosperity and radical change- especially in women’s fashion. Womenswear in the 20’s incorporated: flat dress lines, drop waist silhouettes and t-strap shoes with stockings. Accessories of note include: fans, elaborate headbands, fringe, feathers, pearls and costume jewelry. Dr. Gaskill so elegantly pulled the flapper girl look off. This is also great last minute Halloween costume inspiration!
