With Fall being my absolute favorite season (and not just because it is my birthday month), I have nearly become an expert at all things Fall. Here are some of my favorite things to do in the Fall time!
1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch
This is one of my favorite things to do during this time of year because it gets you in the Halloween/Fall time spirit! Go with some friends to Sinkland Farms in Christiansburg to pick out some pumpkins, go through a corn maze, take a hayride, or even just to see the animals. Sinkland is one of the best pumpkin patches I have been to, definitely check it out!
2. Carve/decorate your pumpkins
Carving pumpkins can be so fun if you’re good at it! If you’re anything like me, though, you try every year and it always looks nothing like what you had in mind. So another great option for those of you who are just not talented in carving pumpkins would be to decorate them! You can do so many things with this option, it’s bound to look super cute!
3. Go to a bonfire
There’s nothing better than being really cold and cuddling up next to a nice, warm fire! Bonfires are so cozy and can be super fun if you invite a bunch of friends to come, too!
4. Decorate with Fall decor
I absolutely love buying really festive home decorations for each season and holiday! It is such a fun thing to shop for (and who doesn’t love shopping?) and it really puts you in the holiday spirit as well! Some of my favorite places to shop Fall decor are Pier 1 Imports, TJ Maxx, Kirklands, and Target!
5. Dress up for Halloween
Even if you don’t go out for Halloween, dressing up and having a good time is still a necessity! One of the best things about the season is figuring out your costume for Halloween! There are also so many DIY costumes on the internet to chose from and make yourself! It doesn’t have to be elaborate, any costume is fun!
6. Make/Eat Caramel Apples
YUM! Fall is the best time to make yummy deserts of any kind, but candy apples just scream FALL! There’s so many variations of candy apples you can make, so do some research of recipes! A bit more messy than most of the fall activities on this list, but that just makes it all the more fun!
7. Tailgate at a football game
Luckily, Virginia Tech is a great place for tailgating and football games! Whether the team wins or loses, the tailgate beforehand is always a fun one!
8. Go to a Haunted House
Haunted Houses are so much fun if you don’t mind getting a little spooked. If you’re not into the whole haunted house thing, check out a scary movie on Halloween instead! If you hate scary movies, too, then at least watch Hocus Pocus! Halloween would have no point if you didn’t at least get a little spooked!
9. Get stuffed on Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving is easily most everyone’s favorite part of Fall! It’s the one day you get to absolutely pig out and no one will say a word! So, please, do not be one of those people who swears they’re on a diet on Thanksgiving; just get stuffed!
10. Eat something PUMPKIN
One of my favorites things about the Fall season! Call me the basic white girl, but I am all about some pumpkin flavored goods! The Pumpkin Spice Latte is, of course, one of my favs, as well as pumpkin bread, cupcakes, cookies, or ice cream! You can’t get pumpkin goodies any other time of the year, so when you can, you better take advantage of it!
