If you haven’t heard the name Emily Schuman, you may have heard of her whimsical website: Cupcakes and Cashmere. Emily began her career at Condé Nast before starting her own blog in 2008. Cupcakes and Cashmere isn’t just food and clothes (the title is deceiving), but rather a complication of her favorite things. One day she is posting about her wardrobe, the next is career tips from hiring managers. Emily is basically my spirit animal.
Not only has her blog been successful, but her first book published in August 2012 was a National Bestseller. Her second book, being released May 19, 2015, hones in on home decor and the art of entertaining (no surprise I’ve already pre-ordered).
What I admire most about Emily is how relatable she is to her readers. I am talking about her like I’ve known her for years, and that is exactly how she wants you to feel. Her blog is for the young, the old, and anyone in between who adores the aesthetic. If you’re looking for chic inspiration (in addition to your daily dose of VT Vogue), I recommend stopping by her blog.
