Stylish+Warm Outfit Ideas

Every winter I find myself facing the same dilemma- should I wear something cute or be warm? Sometimes, the leggings and sweatshirt wins. Other days, I sacrifice comfort and warmth for fashion. It may seem like warmth and style can’t coexist in the winter, but these outfit ideas show it’s possible:

This outfit is the perfect balance of cute and cozy. Even though it’s made up of relatively casual pieces, they look put together because of the varying shades of grey and black. The graphic top provides interest, and the Hunter rain boots add a small hint of color. The hat, gloves, and tall socks are necessities that will really keep you warm!

This outfit is a great example of dressing professionally in the winter. Neutral shades are always an easy way to keep an outfit classy and cohesive, especially when you’re layering. Wearing a more fitted blazer-style coat instead of a parka automatically makes your outfit look put-together and stylish. Make sure to wear thicker or fleece-lined tights to keep your legs warm. You could also swap out the ankle boots for taller ones to stay warmer.

I love this layered look. The combo of a button down and sweater is always classic, but the denim shirt keeps it current. It looks chic with black pants tucked into black ankle boots–a pairing that will lengthen your figure! A fur-lined parka is a perfect choice for a jacket that is both warm and fashionable. The only thing she’s missing is gloves and a beanie!

This is definitely is one of the most practical winter outfits, but the combo of neutrals keeps it stylish. Oversized scarves and pom pom beanies are both trendy winter pieces, as well as the Bean boots. I love the varsity striped socks, they add a touch of sportiness to the look. This one is sure to keep you warm during a winter walk or snowball fight!

Stay warm Hokies!
