VT Inspired Makeup

Finding the perfect outfit to show off your school spirit can be hard, but sometimes the right makeup can complete your look. With just a few maroon and orange hues, you create the perfect Virginia Tech inspired makeup looks for games, tailgates, Gobbler Nights or any other school-spirited events.

A burnt orange smokey eye paired with a dark maroon lip is a great way to showcase both of our school colors. For this look, I used the Morphe 12NB palette, but you can use any palette that features brown and orange mattes and shimmers. Start by applying a primer and a pale base eye shadow over your lid and crease. For definition, use a matte orange tone on your crease. I used the third shade from the left of the second row on the Morphe palette. You can also darken the ends of the crease with a medium brown shade with a orange tint similar to the first shade of the last row. Then, use a shimmer like the second shade in the second row on your lid. Finally, use a dark brown with a maroon undertone like the fourth shade in the last row to accentuate the outer corners of you eyes. Tie the look together with a maroon matte lipstick. I’m wearing NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Copenhagen. I decided to skip the eyeliner and do a light contour with highlighter, but you can wear any eyeliner and face makeup you’d like with this look.

For a more bold look, try maroon eye makeup with a nude lip. I used the Huda Beauty Rose Gold palette for this, but any palette with a shimmery red and brown mattes will work. Start off with some primer and a light eye shadow all over your lid and crease as a base. Then, apply a pale brown matte like Sandalwood to your crease and then darken the edges with a medium brown matte with a pink undertone like Henna. For shimmer, use a sparkly maroon shade like  on just your lid. If you’d like to darken the outer corners of your eyes, you can use a dark maroon like Bobby. Finally, add a nude lip and any eyeliner and face makeup you’d like.
