If you haven’t heard already, the Fashion Merchandising and Design Society is holding its annual fashion show coordinated by Lissandra Cartagena and Meredith Cox this year. The show will be in the Squires Commonwealth Ballroom at 8pm on April 12th. If you remember last year’s show, it was all about summer vibes, but this year get ready for Enchanted: an elegant mix of dark & edgy and light & soft looks.
If you’re not hype yet, fashion bloggers Amanda Marshall and Sunny Murthy, and Miss Virginia, Ashley Vollrath, will be in attendance. There will also be live music performed by DJ C-Jay. Shopping will be provided by vendors like ThriftED Mag, Clinique, Jay Marne, and eff.y.bee.
The show will open with looks provided by local boutiques, such as Greenhouse, Sundee Best, Fringe Benefit and 310 Rosemont. The rest of the show will feature the work of 32 students designers worn by student models. At the end, there will be a garment competition where the audience and the judges will vote on their favorite student-designed garment.
