Today, online shopping is all the rage but sometimes I can’t help the desire to go into a store and browse. If all we cared about was shopping, Virginia Tech would not be at the top of the list when deciding what college to go to. However, there are some great stores close to campus that can help your retail addiction.
This boutique located right on Main Street is one of my favorite places to shop here in Blacksburg that is within walking distance to campus; stocking trendy brands like Free People, DB Dakota, and Levi’s. Their clothing is always on point with the current trends not only in apparel but also shoes, jewelry, and accessories. Some of the items are expensive but they carry other affordable brands as well to meet any budget. As college students, we love a discount and 310 offers 15% off for students; which is awesome!
The malls close to my hometown usually had department stores like Nordstrom and Lord and Taylor, so I’d never heard about Belk until moving to Blacksburg. Belk is in Christiansburg, which is only a 15 minute ride from Blacksburg and is the closest thing to an up-scale department store. Belk carries a great selection of Free People and other brands that are affordable yet trendy. Their beauty department is very nice with Clinique, Lancome, and Estee Lauder counters. I recently discovered they carry a bunch of really great mini items like Glam Glow face masks, Benefit brow pencils, and so many others. Belk would be my first stop to browse for a little gift for a friend or to yourself!
I am sure many of you have a T.J. Maxx near your hometown but the one in Christiansburg is actually really great. Their beauty section is awesome with a lot of high brands like Stila, Bare Minerals, Urban Decay, and Bobbi Brown; I could spend hours looking through their hair products aisle as well! Recently, I purchased a giant tub of an Amika hair mask for such a steal. If you take the time to look in TJ Max you can find huge bargains; Recently, I purchased a giant tub of an Amika hair mask for such a steal Besides their beauty and hair products, their athleisure section is incredible with so many quality pairs of Nike leggings, Calvin Klein joggers and a wide selection of sports bras; add not to mention, it’s all discounted!
Sundee Best is another boutique on Main Street and, in my opinion, is more affordable then 310 Rosemont. They carry smaller, less known brands and it definitely reflects in the price. This is a great spot to browse if you don’t want to spend too much and get high quality clothing. Everyone is so nice who works there and they are willing to help you with anything you may need while in the store. They even have super cute window displays, especially for Virginia Tech game days!
