Festival season is coming up ladies and gents! Though I have only been to one music festival, I am so excited to experience two more this upcoming summer! I learned so much from my first festival experience at Bonnaroo, like what to bring, wear, and do! Here is just a little insight on my trip and some tips I learned along the way!
Prepare & Research
I don’t know about anyone else, but if I know I am going to a weekend trip or about to do something unfamiliar to me, I always do my research ahead of time. I am recommending this tip before you attend a festival, because from researching I gained so much insight on what to bring (and what NOT to bring), what to wear, and the environment that I was getting into. Of course, music festivals are all about the relaxing and fun music experience, but it never hurts to prepare for what you are getting into in order to avoid problems during your time there.
Stay Hydrated, Stay Cool
Though the climate is different depending on the festival you are attending; for me, Bonnaroo was HOT, like 100 degrees hot. I never wore makeup or anything heavy because I knew the sweat would be uncontrollable, so I always made sure to wear sunscreen or a cute floppy hat to protect my skin from sun burn. At the festival, you might be drinking, or whatever you enjoy doing, so it is so important to stay hydrated. Think about it, you are going to be dancing and listening to music all day long for multiple days, so you need to fuel your body and drink as much water as you possibly can!
Let loose & ENJOY
Why I loved Bonnaroo so much, and the reason I will be attending again this year, is because of the relaxing atmosphere filled with loving and kind people. It’s safe for me to say that Bonnaroo ’17 was one of the happiest experiences of my life. At festivals, you get to see so many artists, whether they are your favorites or ones you have never heard of before, and dance without any stress on your mind. So enjoy your time, the people, & embrace the outstanding music at your festival this summer, it will be a trip you will never forget!
