Although the holiday season may look a little different this year, there’s no reason your wardrobe has to be boring as well. There are two essential B’s of winter this year; boots and blazers. These two pieces are guaranteed to complete any look, formal or casual. There are so many different ways to style the two by dressing them up or down, which shows how versatile and necessary these pieces are in your winter wardrobe. These will elevate your holiday fashion both separate and paired together.
Boots are a staple in any wardrobe, all year round, but in the winter is when they can make an outfit from a 7 to a 10 immediately. Pairing chunky boots with skirts, jeans or even sweatpants for a more casual look is such a good way to up your street-wear game. I often wear my platform Doc Martens with sweats and a bomber jacket and it makes being comfy look chic as ever. Tall boots, as well, are also high up on my holiday wish list because I can’t seem to get enough of them. Pairing tall boots underneath jeans for a more low-key outing is a great way to look good while not trying too hard. On the other hand, you can dress up tall boots with a mini dress or jumpsuit for a going-out look. I love pairing taller boots with mini skirts or dresses because it creates space and contrast. Some of my favorite boots this winter are Free People Clea patent sock boots, Dr. Marten Sinclair boots, and the Free People Grayson tall boots. All of these are easily dupe-able and can pair well with any look.
This holiday season, blazers are making a comeback and hopefully they are here to stay. This is by far my favorite trend in a long time, blazers are so easy to wear with practically anything. Oversized blazers are great when paired with baggy jeans for a casual look with sneakers, or even with skirt and turtleneck for a chic moment. My personal favorite way to wear my white blazer is with colored pants and a statement top to for a fun but glam look. I have found my favorite blazers at local thrift shops or on Depop and even in my Dad’s closet. The great thing about blazers is how they can elevate a look instantly and make it go from cute to powerful. This holiday season, pairing blazers with dresses or flare pants is going to be essential in creating an unforgettable look that will leave an impression.
The holidays may be dull this 2020, but your outfit doesn’t have to be. Since leaving your house may be a rarity, make every time you go out a chance to show off your killer winter fashion with the help of boots and blazers. P.S- make sure your mask matches the outfit, it’s essential.
