As Valentine’s day creeps around the corner, it’s important to remember that there are other ways to celebrate love other than with a significant other; you can do so with your friends too! My friends and I are celebrating our first galentine’s day together this year and I couldn’t be more excited, and it’s not too late to plan yours. Here are some cute and fun ways to celebrate the occasion that will hopefully leave your heart happy by the end of the day.
Baking a Heart Cake
If you haven’t seen the trend of making charming, minimalistic cakes yet, it’s the most adorable activity to do for this holiday. And you don’t have to be a professional, just buy your favorite cake mix, icing, and a cake pan–specifically a heart one if you really want to be festive–and bake away! You can also get cake decorations at your local grocery store to go all out. To me, baking is definitely more enjoyable with other people, which makes it the perfect activity to do on your galentine’s day.
Dress up and Do a Photoshoot
My most favorite thing about Valentine’s day is the aesthetic–I have to admit it’s the cutest holiday when it comes to decor and clothing! Unfortunately, because of covid, dressing up and going to a nice restaurant isn’t much of an option anymore, but it doesn’t mean you can’t get ready and look amazing. If you get a plain white backdrop and some balloons/decorations (you can get all from the dollar store!) and a friend who has a projector, you and your girls can have a Valentine’s photoshoot right in your own home or apartment.
Bring up the Rom-Coms
I don’t think there’s a better way to end the night other than with classic rom-coms or plain romantic movies. Some of my favorites are About Time, Crazy Rich Asians, Love, Rosie, etc.
